Cymetrodons Vs. Abhoragon (2024) – Full Story Synopsis

“Return To Geb”

Several years after the events of Cymetrodons (2023), the Strangers seem to have abandoned their invasion of the planet Geb. WIT and their Cymetrodons have fought not to kill the aliens, but to capture and rehabilitate them. Rehabilitated Strangers have now been given protected refugee status and are provided with food, housing, and other resources at Sarnath Bay, Nephret. Some of the refugees have even started raising families.

“Varandis”

Not everyone on Geb is happy sharing their planet with the Sarnath Bay refugees. Varandis, a Kektrish war veteran, lost his entire family to the Strangers during the Battle of Fort Shedet (when the Cymetrodons were first deployed). He believes the refugees are still loyal to the Strangers who once enslaved them. So he builds a terrorist organization in Great Kektrys, hoping to end all Kektrish support for the refugees by spreading terror.

Spooked by Varandis, certain voices in the Kektrish and Baskilian governments start calling to withdraw their support for the Sarnath Bay refugees. The Nephret government insists that if this support is withdrawn, it will block all Kektrish and Baskilian access to Nephret medicine. Hoping to prevent a world war, WIT reiterates its commitment to protecting everyone who is innocent, including the refugees.

“WIT Investigates”

Varandis and his followers have stolen two Ghost Ray cannons that were never dismantled by the Kektrish government. They have also managed to steal a recovered Stranger war machine from WIT, as well as a copy of Thyssa’s blueprints for the Cymetrodons. It seems extremely likely that Varandis is building his own Cymetrodon and equipping it with Ghost Ray firepower. So WIT declares a global state of emergency and re-deploys the Cymetrodons for combat.

“Abhoragon”

Kektrish Prime Minister Komoda gives a speech on live television, saying she will not bow to Varandis’ demands, and that she will not withdraw her support for the Sarnath Bay refugees. During the broadcast, Abhoragon – a giant robot dragon – appears for the first time and attacks Fort Shedet (the Kektrish capital).

“Kektrish Military”

The Kektrish military is deployed against Abhoragon, but to no avail. Neither guns nor tanks nor planes have any effect on the rogue Cymetrodon. While piloting Abhoragon, Varandis broadcasts a message demanding the surrender of the Kektrish government. Great Kektrys is now in the midst of a new civil war.

“Cymetrodon War”

WIT and the Cymetrodons arrive at Fort Shedet to fight off Abhoragon. Grawuul tries to reason with Varandis over the radio, but Varandis is well beyond reasoning at this point. The metal monsters clash for several moments, and Abhoragon proves to be a formidable enemy.

“Ghost Ray Cannon”

The battle ends when Varandis activates Abhoragon’s Ghost Ray cannons (one in his chest and one in his tail). WIT and the Cymetrodons narrowly escape the blast, but the impact sends them flying across the city. Abhoragon then escapes and flies away.

“Fort Shedet In Flames”

After recovering from the Ghost Ray blast, WIT and the Cymetrodons watch in horror as its toxic flames devour Fort Shedet. The Kektrish capital has been completely decimated, and its government is now in shambles.

“Funereal Dawn”

WIT establishes a chain of urgent medical care facilities around the perimeter of Fort Shedet. Using Nephret medicine, their agents work to heal as many survivors of the Ghost Ray blast as possible (especially the children). They also collect the bodies of the dead and notify their immediate families. Prime Minister Komoda is sadly counted among the deceased.

“Tracking Abhoragon”

Ever since he fired his Ghost Ray, Abhoragon has been leaving an extremely radioactive trail throughout the Kektrish countryside. Everything in this path – trees, animals, people, etc. – is either dead and burnt beyond recognition, or still in the process of dying horribly. WIT’s leaders—Grawuul, Thyssa, and Kroakoan—follow this trail in their Cymetrodons, tracking Abhoragon to the Yongary Desert.

“Ghost Ray Sickness”

Abhoragon’s trail leads to the Yongary Desert, where WIT and the Cymetrodons locate Varandis’ secret headquarters. It seems Varandis and Abhoragon were recently here, but have already left. Most of the terrorists in the secret base are dead, their bodies covered with horrific burns and cancerous tumors. Only one terrorist is still just barely clinging to life.

The terrorist explains there was a serious malfunction when Varandis activated Abhoragon’s Ghost Ray cannons. The cannons are meant to shut down and cool off when they are not in use; yet they have remained active and ready to fire ever since the destruction of Fort Shedet. Hence why Abhoragon is now poisoning the ecosystem wherever he goes. Varandis and Abhoragon killed everyone at the secret base simply by returning for repairs.

The terrorist also says Varandis conducted an Opening of the Mouth ceremony for Abhoragon, animating his Cymetrodon with the spirits of deceased Kektrish war veterans. So Abhoragon is actually alive and sentient, just as WIT’s Cymetrodons are. With his dying breath, the terrorist warns that Abhoragon will wipe out any densely populated area he approaches, simply by approaching it. He also warns WIT to leave the Yongary Desert as soon as possible, and to “watch out for centipedes.”

“Mutations”

WIT continues to follow Abhoragon’s toxic trail in the Yongary Desert. The trail ends at the Kektrish east coast, indicating Abhoragon has already fled the continent. WIT is then attacked by a horde of gigantic centipedes, which have been mutated from their exposure to Abhoragon. The Cymetrodons use sleeping gas to incapacitate these beasts, remembering they are only animals. Since there are clear signs of even more mutated wildlife in the area, WIT declares the Yongary Desert to be a restricted quarantine zone.

“Panic At Sarnath Bay”

Meanwhile, Abhoragon appears off the coast of Nephret, stumbling toward Sarnath Bay. The beast is behaving strangely, as if it were in terrible confusion and pain. The Cymetrodons head for Sarnath Bay to intercept the monster, while WIT’s ground forces launch an immediate evacuation of the city.

“Dua Geb”

As they cross the ocean to Sarnath Bay, WIT and the Cymetrodons encounter several dead whales and other marine life, all of which have died from Abhoragon’s radiation. They offer a prayer to Geb, the most important deity of the Three Peoples, who is also the Earth itself. They realize they are not just fighting for their separate nations, or even for the Sarnath Bay refugees; instead, they are fighting for the entire ecosystem (or “Father Earth”).

“Fighting For The Earth”

The Cymetrodons arrive at Sarnath Bay just in time to intercept Abhoragon. Grawuul tries to communicate with Varandis over the radio again, but Varandis gives no reply. After scanning Abhoragon, Kroakoan confirms that Varandis has been dead from Ghost Ray poisoning ever since the destruction of Fort Shedet. Abhoragon has been walking around with a rotting, radioactive corpse stuck in his pilot seat this entire time; and since he is actually alive, this experience has driven Abhoragon completely insane.

WIT manages to lead Abhoragon away from the city, and the beast prepares to fire his Ghost Ray cannons once again. Kroakoan begs Abhoragon to stop, or he will destroy himself. Just as his weapons are about to fire, Abhoragon’s system goes into critical overload, and the rogue Cymetrodon explodes.

“Compassion”

Abhoragon’s remains are transported to WIT Headquarters, where Thyssa works to repair and rebuild him. She removes Varandis’ corpse and the two Ghost Ray cannons, which are immediately dismantled. She then turns Abhoragon into a completely new Cymetrodon, renaming him Crackerjack in the process.

“Dark New World”

Abhoragon’s reign of terror has changed the world of the Three Peoples forever. A large part of Great Kektrys is now highly radioactive, with a wide variety of gigantic mutations breeding in the Yongary Desert. With their new friend and partner, Crackerjack, WIT and the Cymetrodons prepare to explore the desert, seeking to contain and catalogue as much of the mutated wildlife as they can. Thankfully, the Three Peoples have agreed to ban all Ghost Ray weaponry, never wanting to see anything like this happen again. But what strange new horrors will the wake of the Ray bring next?
